Volkmann endoscopic retrieval bags are designed to provide quick and safe capture and retrieval of resected tissues and organs.
The detachable facility offers the ultimate convenience by providing the surgeon with the ability to delay the retrieval of the captured tissue. The suture stay design provides rapid retrieval when required, plus the ability to continue to use the port for instrument exchange.
Bags available in differrent deployment mechanism, different volumes and pouch materials: polyurethane, or nylon. All bags are sterile and for single use only.
The specimen retrieval bag is introduced into the abdomen through a laparoscopic port where dissected tissue is placed inside then safely removed avoiding spillage and minimising exposure of the specimen and its contents to the abdominopelvic cavity and skin incisions.
Specimen bags differ in size (dimensions) to accommodate different sized tissue specimens. They differ in construction, shape, and material. Some are purely a bag introduced with a laparoscopic grasping instrument whilst others are deployed through introducer or delivery systems that may be detachable from the bag. All specimen retrieval bags are manufactured for single use.
