PTFE-Coated guidewire is a smooth, flat wire wrapped over a stainless steel core designed to provide balanced performance. The stiff proximal shaft helps ensure pushability and control while the floppy distal tip helps enable precise, less traumatic advancement.
Hydrophilic coating minimizes friction when wet thereby facilitating smooth advancement and easy tracking.
